Fixed Stars in each of the Zodiac Houses Fixed stars have been used in astrology as potential indicators of various things for thousands of years. The stars were known as "fixed" as they do not appear to move in the same way as the planets. Agrippa first introduced the concept of Fixed Star in his his Three Books of Occult Philosophy uses fixed star images and information attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. One of these sources is The Book of Hermes on the 15 Fixed Stars. The "practical" Hermetica of astrology, magic and alchemy, are inextricably linked with the philosophical Hermetica and provide preparatory studies for Hermeticism as Practical Path to Gnosis. Agrippa explains how to use the fixed star listings to make rings or talismans, “Now the manner of making these kinds of Rings, is this, viz. when any Star ascends fortunately, with the fortunate aspect, or conjunction of the Moon, we must take a stone, and Hearb that is under that Star, and make a Ring of the Metall that is suitable to this Star, and in it fasten the stone, putting the Hearb , or root under it; not omitting the inscriptions of images, names, and Characters, as also the proper suffumigations, “ Angelic or The Royal Stars once marked the cardinal points of the equinoxes and the solstices. Classified as being watchers of the four points of the compass. They were characterized as four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Regulus - the heart of the lion in the constellation of Leo, it is the most important of these four. From an Astrological perspective the Archangel Raphael, the Watcher of the North is traditional attributed to Regulus. However Leo is under the domain of the Archangel Michael, so there is somewhat a contradiction here. Fomalhaut - the fish's mouth in the constellation of Pisces. The Archangel Gabriel, the Watcher of the South. Again Pisces is under the domain of the Archangel Sachiel. Alderbaran - the left eye of the bull in the constellation of Taurus. The Archangel Michael, the watcher of the East. Taurus is under the domain of the Archangel Anael. Antares - the heart of the scorpion in the constellation of Scorpio. The Archangel Oriel, the Watcher of the West. Archangel Samael rules the Astrological sign of Scorpio. The Magic of the Angels of Man – The Pauline Art indicate that the Astrological associations with the various Fixed Stars are as follows. It is therefore a simple matter of identifying the Fixed Star that have an influence over your life by identifying then to your Astrological Birth Sign.:
